New Delhi, June 19: The second Test match between New Zealand and England is underway at the Kennington Oval in London. Day two was entirely in favor of New Zealand. After scoring 391 runs in their first innings, the Kiwi bowlers dismissed six England batsmen.

By the end of the second day, England had managed to score 222 runs while losing six wickets. Ben Duckett and Emilio Gay provided a steady start, adding 45 runs for the first wicket. Duckett was out for 36 runs, hitting five boundaries off 25 balls. Jacob Bethel struggled at the crease, scoring only 9 runs before falling to Nathan Smith. Emilio Gay played a solid innings, facing 114 balls to score 53 runs, including nine fours.

Captain Joe Root began well but failed to convert it into a big score, getting out for 46 runs to Matt Henry. Wicketkeeper James Rew contributed 24 runs before being dismissed. At the close of play, Jordan Cox was on 22 runs, while Jofra Archer remained scoreless. For New Zealand, Matt Henry and William O’Rourke each took two wickets, with Nathan Smith claiming one.

Earlier, New Zealand was all out for 391 runs. Glenn Phillips showcased his talent with a remarkable century, scoring 100 runs off 135 balls, including 18 fours. Kyle Jamieson added 41 runs off 48 balls, while Matt Henry contributed 5 runs. Phillips and Jamieson shared a crucial partnership of 87 runs for the eighth wicket. In England’s bowling attack, Bethel took three wickets, while Jofra Archer and Matthew Fisher each took two.
