Gwalior: A tragic road accident in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior district claimed the lives of four people when a speeding truck laden with heavy goods collided with their car. The accident took place on a highway under the Maharajpura police station area.
The impact was so severe that the car was completely damaged, and the bodies of those inside were crushed. Police rushed to the scene immediately after receiving information and began rescue operations.
According to police officials, a crane was required to extract the bodies trapped inside the car. The accident caused traffic disruption for some time, but authorities managed the situation and later cleared the route.
The deceased were identified as Saurabh Sharma, Jyoti Yadav, Bhure Prajapati, and Uma Rathore. All were residents of Bhind district. Saurabh Sharma was driving the car, travelling from Agra (Uttar Pradesh) towards Gwalior via Bhind. Three other passengers were accompanying him, having taken a lift to reach their home in Bhind.
Following the accident, the truck driver fled the scene and is currently being searched for. Preliminary investigations suggest that dense fog in the morning reduced visibility, which contributed to the crash.
The police have registered a case and are conducting a detailed investigation into all aspects of the incident. The families of the deceased have been informed about the tragedy.
This is not the first road accident in Gwalior recently. On January 22, a speeding truck hit a motorcycle, killing three members of a single family. The victims were from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh and were returning to their hometown after their daughter’s medical checkup in Gwalior.
