Mumbai, March 17: In a smartphone market where larger screens dominate, compact phones are becoming increasingly rare. The upcoming FOSSiBOT F116 Pro stands out by merging a small design with rugged durability and features tailored for outdoor enthusiasts.
The most notable aspect of this device is its 4-inch display (some sources cite 4.05 inches), which differentiates it from the typical 6-inch smartphones prevalent in stores. Measuring approximately 114.5 × 59.6 × 23 mm and weighing around 207 grams, it is thicker than many competitors, but this added bulk contributes to its robust construction. The screen boasts a resolution of 540 × 1168, resulting in a pixel density of about 322 PPI, ensuring a reasonably sharp display at this size.
Internally, the F116 Pro is equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chip (or the 7300-Ultra variant according to some reports), complemented by 12 GB of RAM and storage options up to 256 GB. Additionally, some specifications indicate support for microSD expansion up to 1 TB.
Camera capabilities are another highlight. The device features a 50 MP main sensor, alongside a unique 48 MP ultra-wide camera with a 152.6-degree field of view. FOSSiBOT markets this phone as a potential action-camera alternative, complete with a dedicated camera button and a built-in ¼-inch mount for attaching to tripods, helmets, or bike mounts. A 32 MP front camera is available for selfies and video calls.
Designed for rugged use, the F116 Pro boasts IP68 and IP69K ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H certification for drops up to 1.5 meters. Additional features include a 3,700 mAh battery, 33W charging, 10W reverse charging, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The FOSSiBOT F116 Pro is set to launch on Kickstarter today, March 17, 2026, with a retail price of $499. Early backers can secure it for $339, while the first 1,000 supporters may take advantage of a $279 super-early-bird deal. Shipments are anticipated to commence around April 25.
