New Delhi, September 19 (Daily Kiran) : The upcoming Semicon 2026 event is generating significant excitement among companies in the semiconductor sector, with expectations of around $10 billion in investments. Milind Sadukhan, Managing Director of Linde India Limited, noted that the environment for developing the semiconductor ecosystem in the country is rapidly improving.

During the event, numerous initiatives related to investments and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) are anticipated. Sadukhan emphasized the strong enthusiasm among companies regarding Semicon 2026. He observed a noticeable momentum in investments and projects within the industry. Linde India is in contact with major global players in the semiconductor field, alongside emerging companies preparing to establish facilities for packaging, testing, and assembly.

He also highlighted that incentives from the central government, along with support from various state governments, are fostering a positive environment for investment in the semiconductor sector. The interest shown by states in facilitating projects approved by the central government could further accelerate growth in this area.

Sadukhan provided positive feedback on the proposed new industrial and semiconductor hub spanning approximately 178 acres between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar in Odisha. He mentioned that initial phases of investment and several MOUs have already emerged related to the project. Following discussions with the Chief Minister of Odisha, he expressed a desire to engage actively in the state’s semiconductor and industrial development.

He noted that the Odisha government is prepared to offer facilities to investors, providing support in terms of land and necessary infrastructure, which could ease the establishment of projects. Linde India has also secured additional land in Gopalpur and is continuing discussions on opportunities related to Cuttack. The company remains optimistic about Odisha, exploring collaboration possibilities in semiconductor and industrial gas development. With incentives from both central and state governments, along with increasing participation from industries, the growth trajectory of the semiconductor sector in India is expected to accelerate in the near future.
