New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : Former CPI(M) MP Hannan Mollah has launched a sharp critique against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Speaking in New Delhi, he accused these organizations of perpetuating a narrative that portrays Muslims as terrorists, regardless of their context—be it in schools, mosques, or businesses.
Mollah asserted that among the 30 to 40 individuals arrested for espionage on behalf of Pakistan, 99% are Hindus. He further claimed that none of the 50 people who allegedly fled India with substantial amounts of money are Muslims, emphasizing that they are predominantly Gujarati Hindus.
“This is the standard complaint of the RSS and BJP,” Mollah stated. “They have maintained this stance for a century, declaring Muslims as the primary enemy of Hindus.” He criticized the organizations for not evolving their views over the years, insisting they continue to label Muslims as extremists whenever possible.
Mollah described the situation as a mental affliction, suggesting that those who refuse to acknowledge these realities are willfully blind. He remarked, “What you refuse to see cannot be forced upon you.”
In a broader discussion about India-Pakistan relations, Mollah commented on the ongoing tensions, noting that the refusal to accept a trophy from Pakistani Minister Mohsin Naqvi is not unusual. He also discussed the recent controversy surrounding the singing of “Vande Mataram” during a cricket match between India and Afghanistan, affirming that while standing for the national anthem is mandatory, singing it in a specific language is not.
He concluded by emphasizing the importance of respecting national symbols, stating, “Our flag and our anthem are good things that deserve respect.”
