New Delhi, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Nasser Hussain, the former captain of England, has spoken highly of 21-year-old Pakistani fast bowler Razaullah following his debut in the third Test against England in Birmingham. Razaullah made an immediate impact, dismissing England captain Joe Root and opening batsman Emilio Gay.
Hussain noted, “Pakistan has been looking for something different from their bowlers for a long time. It was great to see Razaullah’s spell; there was something special about it. He took the wicket of a superb batsman like Joe Root.”
The former captain was particularly impressed by Razaullah’s ability to generate speed and bounce. After a significant defeat at Lord’s, Pakistan sent seven players home and brought in seven new faces, including Razaullah. The right-arm fast bowler has played only eight first-class matches, claiming 30 wickets so far.
On the first day of the Birmingham Test, Razaullah’s bowling stood out as the only positive for Pakistan. Thanks to his efforts, Pakistan managed to dismiss four English batsmen for 156 runs, giving them a glimmer of hope after being bowled out for just 133 runs in their first innings. All eyes will be on Razaullah as the second day of the Test unfolds.
In terms of batting, Pakistan struggled again, collapsing to 133 runs in just 33.5 overs after losing the toss. Saud Shakeel was the top scorer with 43 runs, while Mohammad Abbas, batting at number ten, contributed 21 runs. For England, Josh Tongue took four wickets, while Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer claimed three each.
