Ladakh, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : Nawang Tsering has made headlines by winning the Ladakh Marathon, completing the challenging 122-kilometer Silk Route Ultra (SRU) in an impressive time of 12 hours, 12 minutes, and 18 seconds. This remarkable achievement marks Tsering’s first attempt at the marathon, and he emerged victorious right from the start.
In an exclusive interview after his win, Tsering expressed his excitement, stating, “Participating in the Ladakh Marathon Silk Route Ultra (SRU) for the first time and securing first place is a significant achievement. It was quite difficult and challenging, and my muscles were quite stiff. The competition was intense, but I managed to set a record this year.”
Tsering credited his success to his coaches, teammates, and the local administration for their support throughout his journey.
When asked about his motivation to join the marathon, Tsering smiled and shared, “I was inspired by my friends who participated in marathons. I would see them competing in other states, which encouraged me to take part myself.”
He also had a message for the youth, urging them not to waste their talents. “Showcase your abilities. I’m not suggesting that everyone should run marathons, but each person has unique talents. Nurture those talents and strive to excel,” he advised.
Tsering’s success serves as an inspiration to young individuals striving to achieve greatness despite challenges.
