Five Drug Traffickers Arrested in Hyderabad Raids

Hyderabad, April 7: The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) arrested four drug traffickers during coordinated raids at three locations on Tuesday. A senior official confirmed the details.

H-NEW conducted a joint operation with the police stations of Chilkalguda, Sanath Nagar, and Adibatla. During this operation, they apprehended an interstate drug trafficker, a local dealer, and three sub-traffickers, seizing various illegal substances, vehicles, mobile phones, and cash valued at ₹6.365 million.

In the first case, police from Chilkalguda arrested 18-year-old student Sai Nikhil Yadav, confiscating 115 grams of MDMA worth ₹1.15 million. According to Deputy Commissioner Vaibhav Gaikwad of the H-NEW task force, Nikhil developed a drug addiction during his college years. To fund his habit and earn easy money, he connected with a senior college supplier and became an assistant trafficker. He has previously been involved in two drug cases under the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police commissionerates.

In the second case, H-NEW, in collaboration with Sanath Nagar police, arrested 28-year-old interstate trafficker Simhachalam and his 23-year-old associate Venu. Police seized 1005 grams of hash oil and two mobile phones valued at ₹1.275 million.

Simhachalam, a welder from Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, began working as a transporter along the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border and gradually became an interstate drug trafficker. He established a network to supply drugs in Hyderabad by connecting with suppliers. He has a criminal record and is involved in multiple NDPS cases registered in Cyberabad and Sangareddy, having previously been remanded in judicial custody.
