FIR Filed in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust Donation Case

Ayodhya, June 26: An FIR has been registered against eight named individuals and several unidentified suspects in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust donation case. The FIR was filed at the request of the trust, following a preliminary report by the SIT formed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, which included stringent recommendations. Currently, the accused are being interrogated.

As of late Thursday night, no arrests have been made. The FIR (Crime No. 90/2026) was filed at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi police station based on a written complaint by trust member Krishnamohan. The named accused include Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava, and Shri Ram Shankar Yadav, also known as Tinnu, along with other unidentified individuals.

Charges have been filed under sections 305, 306, 316(5), 317(4), 317(5), 61, 3(5) BNS, and 13(1)(a) of the PC Act. Vijay Vishwas Pant, a key member of the SIT investigating this case, submitted the preliminary report to the government on Tuesday, which included severe recommendations.

The FIR was filed following the trust’s request for a special investigation after allegations of embezzlement of offerings and donations emerged. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had ordered the formation of the SIT to investigate the matter.

Adityanath stated that the SIT’s impartial investigation would clarify the situation, ensuring that “milk is milk and water is water,” and that no guilty party would be spared.

Notably, the controversy surrounding the alleged misappropriation of donations at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple gained traction in the first week of June when senior Samajwadi Party leader and former minister Pawan Pandey raised serious questions regarding the management of the donations received by the temple.

Following the public allegations, political discussions intensified, with the opposition demanding a fair investigation. Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav also emphasized the need for transparency in the matter through social media.

In response to the escalating controversy, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust publicly denied the allegations and clarified its position, asserting that the management process for donations and offerings was transparent and denying any irregularities. However, the issue remained a topic of political and public discourse.

In light of the growing dispute, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took the matter seriously, directing an investigation and establishing a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Lucknow Commissioner Dr. Vijay Vishwas Pant on June 13, with a mandate to present a detailed report within a specified timeframe.
