Sant Kabir Nagar, June 25: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced plans for a grand corridor at Baba Tameshwar Nath Dham and other religious sites in the region. He emphasized that beautifying these places is not just about faith but also a tribute to the ancestors who established these heritage sites. The government aims to give Baba Tameshwar Nath Dham a new identity, similar to the developments seen at Kashi Vishwanath Dham and Ayodhya Dham.
The Chief Minister addressed a gathering after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 139 development projects worth over ₹475 crore at Shri Baijunath Dham, located on the banks of the Kuano River. He also distributed certificates to beneficiaries of various government schemes. The projects include approximately ₹225 crore for the Dhanghata assembly constituency and around ₹251 crore for the Khajani assembly constituency.
Before the event, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. During this meeting, housing approvals were granted under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) for 618,000 new eligible families in Uttar Pradesh. This decision by the double-engine government is a significant step towards providing permanent housing for the underprivileged.
CM Adityanath highlighted that areas like Dhanghata and Khajani, once considered the most backward, are now directly connected to the state capital, Lucknow, via the Purvanchal Expressway. Previously neglected, these regions are now part of the development mainstream. Residents of Belghat, Khajani, and Dhanghata no longer need to take long detours to reach Lucknow; they can now arrive in just two hours via the expressway. The expansion of national and rural roads, along with the construction of new bridges and access routes, is transforming the region.
The establishment of Greater GIDA in Dhuriyapar is attracting new industries and creating job opportunities for the youth in Dhanghata. The development of the Sant Kabir Academy, auditorium, and Mahaparinirvana site in Maghar is also providing thousands of jobs.
The Chief Minister mentioned the Bakhera Lake in the Mehndawal assembly constituency, stating that it is being developed as a Ramsar site and eco-tourism center. The government is also making significant strides in education and health. New degree colleges, polytechnics, and ITIs are being established in areas lacking higher educational institutions. Initiatives like Operation Kayakalp, Project Alankaar, Atal Residential Schools, and Chief Minister Composite Schools are strengthening the education system.
The goal of the double-engine government is to make future generations self-reliant. It is committed to ensuring that the poor, farmers, youth, and women receive their rightful benefits. Today, the underprivileged are receiving free rations, health services up to ₹5 lakh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, and benefits from the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
CM Adityanath referred to the Emergency imposed on June 25, 1975, calling it a dark chapter in Indian democracy. He criticized the Congress for stifling democracy, suspending civil rights, and imprisoning opposition leaders. He targeted the Congress and the Samajwadi Party, stating that parties claiming to uphold democracy and the Constitution are responsible for its greatest disrespect.
He asserted that Uttar Pradesh is no longer dependent on identity; it has become the growth engine of the country’s economy. The double-engine government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is working to empower villages, the poor, farmers, youth, and women. He urged the local residents to join in the journey of development and good governance, emphasizing that together they can elevate the region and state to new heights.
Criticizing the opposition, CM Yogi stated that the Congress and the Samajwadi Party are misleading the public. As the nation enters the 50th year since the murder of democracy, these parties are making false promises to the people. He questioned how Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav can advocate for democracy while carrying the Constitution when they have disrespected it so greatly.
The double-engine government is working to fulfill Babasaheb’s dream, respecting the Constitution, heritage, and every section of society. Beneficiaries received approval letters from CM Yogi, including Radhika (Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme), Shabnam Kumari (Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme), Rita Upadhyay (Self-Help Group, ₹5,715,000 check), Abhigyan Rai (Chief Minister Youth Entrepreneur Development, ₹500,000 check), and Ram Sharan Vishwakarma (beneficiary of the Labor Honor Scheme).
