Meerut, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : The high-profile murder case of Saurabh Rajput in Meerut is set for a crucial verdict on Wednesday. The district court will announce its decision regarding the accused, his wife Muskaan and her lover Sahil. Ahead of this, Rajput’s brother has publicly demanded that both should receive the death penalty. He stated that if justice is not served, the family will pursue the matter all the way to the Supreme Court.
Rahil, Saurabh’s brother, expressed, “We have always hoped for justice. Our sole demand is that those responsible for our brother’s death face the same fate.” He emphasized the family’s ongoing struggle for justice, which has lasted nearly a year and a half. He described the toll the case has taken on their lives, noting the daily trips to court that have disrupted their routine.
Rahil mentioned that there are a total of 22 witnesses who have testified in court. He reiterated his call for the death penalty, stating that if the district court imposes a lesser sentence, they will escalate the fight to the High Court and possibly the Supreme Court.
The case gained national attention due to the shocking circumstances surrounding it. Saurabh’s body was discovered in a blue drum at his home, leading to the arrest of Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil on March 19 of the previous year. They are accused of murdering Saurabh and concealing his remains in the drum.
The family remains resolute in their quest for justice, hoping for a verdict that reflects the severity of the crime.
