NDA Leaders Criticize INDIA Alliance Meeting, Call it a Coalition of Convenience

New Delhi, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Political tensions escalated in New Delhi as leaders from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) launched a scathing critique of the recent INDIA alliance meeting. The gathering aimed to strategize on issues related to the Special Investigation Report (SIR), but the absence of key figures like Akhilesh Yadav from the Samajwadi Party and the withdrawal of the DMK and Aam Aadmi Party sparked fierce backlash from the ruling coalition.

Danish Azad, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government, sharply criticized the INDIA alliance. He remarked, “The members of the INDIA alliance are not even ready to sit together and are attacking each other. What kind of coalition is this? It is, in fact, a ‘Maha Thugbandhan’ created to mislead the public and serve their political interests.” He questioned the rationale behind Akhilesh Yadav’s absence, asking, “If Akhilesh has distanced himself from the meeting, what is the foundation of this coalition? Their claims have been exposed before the public.”

Bihar BJP President Sanjay Sarawagi echoed these sentiments, describing the opposition unity as fractured. He stated, “This is a coalition of self-interest. Whenever elections approach or the opposition faces a significant defeat, they resort to blaming constitutional institutions like the Election Commission and the Enforcement Directorate. If Congress doesn’t get its way, it accuses these institutions.” He added that the alliance is on the verge of collapse, pointing out that the absence of key leaders like Akhilesh Yadav and the DMK from the meeting signifies deeper issues within the coalition.

Sarawagi also urged the opposition to voice specific objections regarding the SIR or the voter list, emphasizing that the Election Commission is open to considering genuine concerns. He criticized the opposition for engaging in baseless accusations instead of constructive dialogue. Using West Bengal as a reference, he noted that the Congress and Mamata Banerjee’s party often only raise issues when they lose, calling it a long-standing strategy.

Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav added a humorous touch, questioning the relevance of the INDIA alliance. “Who even knows which parties are part of it? It’s just the Samajwadi Party and its subordinate, the Congress. This alliance will lead to nothing,” he quipped. He likened the coalition to a group of snakes and scorpions gathering during a flood, suggesting they are only coming together out of desperation.

JDU National General Secretary Shyam Rajak also weighed in, stating that while it’s called the INDIA alliance, it is fundamentally driven by stubbornness. He criticized Congress for not adhering to the spirit of alliance-building, suggesting that the parties involved are only nominally united.

The ongoing political skirmish highlights the fractures within the opposition coalition as the NDA leaders continue to challenge its legitimacy and effectiveness.
