Washington, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : President Donald Trump recently emphasized his positive relationship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, stating that Kim possesses a “significant” nuclear arsenal. Trump expressed confidence that as long as he remains in office, Kim will be “fine,” attributing this to mutual respect and a favorable rapport between the two leaders.
These remarks came during a press briefing following a meeting at the White House with top executives from artificial intelligence companies. When asked about his stance on North Korea’s nuclear capabilities, especially in light of his firm position against Iran acquiring nuclear weapons, Trump responded, “Kim Jong Un has a substantial nuclear capability. He will be fine as long as I am around.”
Trump’s comments arrive amid ongoing concerns from the U.S. and its allies regarding North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs. The regime has consistently advanced its nuclear weapons agenda, which Kim regards as a cornerstone of the nation’s security strategy.
The two leaders have previously engaged in multiple rounds of personal diplomacy. However, Trump’s latest statement did not indicate any new meetings or negotiations on the horizon.
In his remarks, Trump highlighted the personal connection he shares with Kim, suggesting that the North Korean leader holds him in high esteem. This sentiment reinforces his belief that the situation will remain stable while he is president. Nevertheless, Trump did not specify the size of North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, and reports have similarly refrained from detailing the exact number of nuclear weapons involved.
