
Kapurthala, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : A startling incident unfolded in Kapurthala, Punjab, where a family learned that their son, previously believed to be dead, was alive and incarcerated. The revelation came to light following a phone call from the local jail.
According to reports, the young man, identified as Ravi Kumar, went missing on August 5. His family searched extensively but could not find him. On August 11, they filed a missing person report at the Kapurthala City Police Station. Shortly after, police informed them that a charred body had been discovered, and the family was shown photographs of the deceased. They identified the body as that of Ravi Kumar and proceeded with his funeral on August 13.
However, on September 2, a staff member from Kapurthala Central Jail contacted the family, revealing that a person named Ravi Kumar was alive and in custody. He had been arrested by Jalandhar police about a month earlier for a case related to vagrancy. This unexpected news left the family in shock and confusion.
The following day, they visited the jail and were overjoyed to find Ravi Kumar alive. The family’s emotional rollercoaster from grief to relief highlights the complexities surrounding missing person cases and the critical importance of accurate identification.
