
New Delhi, April 9: Union Minister Annapurna Devi emphasized that Prime Minister Modi’s primary goal is to foster development led by women. Speaking about the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam,’ she highlighted that since 2014, Modi has aimed for women to advance in all sectors and achieve empowerment.
Devi urged collective action to pass the bill for the best interests of women, ensuring they have a 33% presence in various fields and play a decisive role in propelling the nation forward.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, remarked that this initiative should have been established post-independence but acknowledged that it is better late than never. She expressed gratitude on behalf of the women of the country towards the Prime Minister.
She noted the significant role women play, especially in managing household resources and decisions, underscoring their importance in society. Jyoti reflected on her decade-long service in the government as a major achievement.
Rajasthan’s Deputy CM Diya Kumari stated that there is great enthusiasm among women, who feel they are progressing. She emphasized that women’s roles will be crucial in a developed India, ensuring they receive their rights and opportunities.
Having voted in favor of the bill when it was first introduced, Kumari sees its reintroduction in Parliament as a positive sign for women. She added that under PM Modi’s visionary leadership, women’s voices are not only being heard but are also shaping the country’s future.
Increased representation of women in legislative bodies is a decisive step towards empowerment and strengthens the foundation of democracy, enabling women to lead, participate, and inspire at all levels.
