Eknath Shinde Meets PM Modi: Discusses Middle East Conflict and State Issues

New Delhi, March 17: Eknath Shinde, the Shiv Sena leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday. The two leaders engaged in detailed discussions regarding the Iran-Israel conflict, domestic conditions, and various issues concerning Maharashtra. Present at the meeting were Shiv Sena MPs Shrikant Shinde, Naresh Mhaske, Milind Deora, Dhairyashil Mane, Shrirang Barne, and Ravindra Waikar.

During the meeting, Shinde assured that in times of war, the Shiv Sena stands with the Prime Minister as an ally of the NDA, emphasizing their commitment to the nation. Following the meeting, Deputy CM Shinde addressed the media.

Shinde accused opposition leader Rahul Gandhi of spreading false propaganda in India during the conflict in Gulf countries for political gain. He criticized Gandhi, stating that some individuals speak about Pakistan merely to create headlines. He reiterated that for Balasaheb, the nation came first, and politics was secondary. Today, they continue to uphold Balasaheb’s ideals.

He informed the Prime Minister that Maharashtra citizens stranded in Kuwait, Dubai, and Muscat due to the conflict have been safely brought back to Mumbai and Pune. Shinde expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for the safe return of two ships from the Strait of Hormuz, attributing it to the strong relations built with Gulf countries post-COVID. He also discussed various developmental projects and issues within the state.

Shinde lamented that it is unfortunate the opposition is using wartime conditions for political purposes. He accused Congress and Shiv Sena-UBT of spreading rumors about a gas shortage in the country, which is providing opportunities for black marketeers. He stated that while there are many political issues, it is disheartening to see the opposition politicizing during such critical times. He recalled similar political maneuvers during ‘Operation Sindoor,’ which attracted attention in Pakistan as well.

The Deputy CM instructed Shiv Sena MPs to take a firm stand on the gas shortage issue and to counter the false propaganda spread by the opposition in the assembly. He assured that there is no shortage of gas cylinders anywhere in the state and that the government is diligently working to curb black market activities.
