Betul, June 19: Hemant Khandelwal, the President of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Madhya Pradesh unit, announced initiatives aimed at empowering orphaned children. During an event organized by the Vijay Seva Nyas at Ramkrishna Bagh in Betul, checks covering school fees for 59 children from 42 orphaned families were handed over to the respective school administrators and principals. Additionally, each child received 2,000 rupees for educational materials.
Khandelwal also provided financial assistance of 20,000 rupees to the guardians of these orphaned children, along with 10,000 rupees for the families of those studying in government schools.
He stated that the Vijay Seva Nyas is committed to the education and overall development of the 59 orphaned children it has adopted. The organization aims to educate these children and make them self-reliant. After completing their education, the Nyas will also address their employment and self-employment needs.
Khandelwal emphasized that the Nyas covers all educational expenses for orphaned children while also providing financial support to their families. He noted that this initiative, established in memory of former MP Vijay Khandelwal, has been aiding orphaned children for several years, following the path of human service. In 2025, the Nyas bore the full educational expenses for 41 children, and this year, the number has increased to 59.
He reiterated that while it is crucial to ensure educational opportunities for these children, it is equally important to make their families self-sufficient. Efforts are underway to provide employment opportunities based on the skills and capabilities of the guardians raising these children.
