New Delhi, July 1: The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) announced on Wednesday that former fast bowler Dodda Paneni Kalyan Krishna has been appointed as the Director of Cricket Operations for the state.
This appointment was confirmed during ACA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Mangalagiri. The ACA stated, “We look forward to Kalyan Krishna’s leadership in strengthening our cricket operations and promoting robust future development in the sport.”
In a conversation with the media, Kalyan Krishna expressed gratitude to ACA President Keshineni Shivnath and Secretary Suna Satish Babu for their trust in him.
“I am very thankful to the ACA President and Secretary for believing in me and granting me this role. I was a player for the Andhra team, and now I am back in an off-field role. Every player dreams of giving back to the sport after their playing days, and I feel fortunate to be able to do that now,” he said.
Kalyan Krishna will also collaborate with Andhra’s head coach Gary Stead to strategize for the 2026/27 domestic season.
“This feels like a career-changing opportunity for me. I have built a good reputation as a commentator, and now taking on this role is a significant challenge. I am confident that I will do justice to it and continue the good work done by the ACA so far. My priorities include increasing the accessibility of the sport for both men’s and women’s cricket in the state and developing more players who can represent India in the future,” he added.
At 42 years old, Kalyan Krishna has played 51 first-class and 42 List A matches for Andhra. This right-arm bowler has taken 154 wickets in first-class cricket and 52 in List A formats.
