Dimple Yadav Criticizes BJP for Misleading Women’s Reservation Issues

Mumbai, April 18: Dimple Yadav, a Member of Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, has launched a fierce attack on the central government regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill. She accused the BJP of diverting the issue for political gain instead of granting real rights to women, claiming that the party is rushing the matter in the current electoral climate.

Yadav stated that the BJP’s “only job has become spreading confusion.” She clarified that the Women’s Reservation Act, passed in 2023, had the support of all parties. However, she raised concerns about the intentions behind the newly proposed amendments to the Women’s Reservation Bill.

She emphasized that the Constitution clearly outlines a process where a census must be conducted first, followed by seat delimitation based on that data. Without the census figures, she questioned how the increase in seats could be justified.

The MP alleged that the central government is merely creating a facade while avoiding concrete actions. With elections in five states and upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh, doubts arise about the government’s intentions. “Why this rush during elections? How can conclusions be drawn before the delimitation that follows the census?” she asked.

Dimple Yadav remarked that the BJP attempts to mislead the public during election time with money and empty promises. However, she believes that people have recognized this distracting politics, and such strategies will not succeed. She asserted that her party aims to ensure that the benefits of reservation reach every woman, not just a select few.

Additionally, she accused the BJP of being insincere about providing reservations to minorities and the OBC community. Yadav stated that the BJP’s intentions are unclear, and they will have to answer to the public in the upcoming elections.
