Mumbai, 7 December. Ranveer Singh’s multi-starrer film ‘Dhurandhar’ has won the hearts of fans immediately after its release. The film and its characters are receiving widespread praise.
Actors Akshaye Khanna and R. Madhavan’s performances are particularly being appreciated. Akshaye Khanna is also credited for the impactful ending of the film. Meanwhile, the film’s box office collection figures have been revealed, showing it has earned over ₹50 crore in just two days.
Bollywood actress and director Aditya Dhar’s wife, Yami Gautam, shared the collection details. According to her post, the film collected ₹28.60 crore on the first day and ₹33.10 crore on the second day. In total, ‘Dhurandhar’ has earned ₹61.70 crore so far.
It is expected that the film will continue its strong performance on the upcoming Sunday, supported by excellent advance bookings. Media reports suggest the film could earn around ₹38 crore on Sunday alone.
The next week also looks promising for the film, as no major releases are scheduled for Friday, 12 December. On that day, Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kis Kis Ko Pyar Karoon 2’ and the 4K re-release of ‘Sholay’ will hit the screens, keeping ‘Dhurandhar’ in a favorable position for continued box office success.
‘Dhurandhar’ was released in cinemas on 5 December. Prior to release, the film faced legal challenges over its story, but the censor board cleared it with an ‘A’ certificate after some cuts and changes.
The ‘A’ certificate was given due to several intense and violent action scenes. Initially, the film’s story was said to be inspired by martyr Major Mohit Sharma, but it actually revolves around the 26/11 attacks. All the actors have delivered strong performances.
This film marks Aditya Dhar’s second major hit, following his successful film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike.’ ‘Dhurandhar’ has become the third biggest opening film of the year, after ‘Chhawa’ and ‘War 2,’ which both had bumper openings.
