
Mandla, April 4: A tragic road accident occurred late Friday night on National Highway 30, near Charatola in the Mandla district of Madhya Pradesh. Two motorcycles collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of three young men, while a fourth individual sustained serious injuries.
Initial police reports indicate that both motorcycles were traveling at high speeds when they collided violently in the darkness. The impact was so severe that all three riders died at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as residents of the Gadhi (Bichhiya) police station area. Two of them hailed from Jamun Tola village, while the third was from the nearby Karanjiya Mal.
Among the victims was 36-year-old Jagdish Yadav, a lineman with the electricity department, who was returning home from work at the time of the accident.
Local residents and police arrived promptly at the scene. A police team from Bichhiya quickly secured the area and initiated an investigation.
The seriously injured young man was rushed to Bichhiya Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
According to police officer Monish Mogre, the deceased were identified as 30-year-old Sanket Das and 26-year-old Ram Prakash, both residents of Karanjiya Mal, who were heading towards Mandla. Jagdish was coming from the opposite direction when the collision occurred near the toll plaza. Only Ram Prakash survived the crash.
Preliminary investigations suggest that speeding was the primary cause of this fatal accident. However, police have not ruled out other contributing factors such as poor visibility at night, mechanical failure, or potential overtaking errors.
Further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the accident, including vehicle inspections and witness statements.
The police have registered a case and are urging drivers to adhere to traffic regulations, especially when driving at night. They have also advised riders to avoid speeding and ensure the proper use of helmets and reflective gear.
