Indias Diplomatic Success Amidst Iran Conflict: Ashwini Kumars Insights

Gurdaspur, April 4: Former Union Law Minister Ashwini Kumar has expressed serious concerns regarding the ongoing war in Iran, stating that the current situation is extremely complex and that ending this conflict is beyond the capacity of any single nation.

In an interview with a news agency, Kumar remarked, “It is impractical to expect any other country to independently resolve the war in such circumstances.” However, he praised India’s role, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for peace among nations as a positive and commendable step.

He noted that India has made efforts to convey a message of peace on the global stage, reflecting its growing international stature. The involvement of major countries such as Iran, Israel, and the United States has complicated the war on an international level.

Kumar also pointed out that despite the challenging circumstances, India has maintained balanced and strong relations with Iran, Israel, and the United States. This is why, despite current tensions, the supply of gas and petrol from Iran to India continues uninterrupted.

He referenced the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that this crucial maritime route remains a channel for energy resources to India, showcasing India’s diplomatic success.

Kumar further stated that if India is truly progressing towards becoming a “Vishwa Guru” (World Leader), it must also emerge as a messenger of peace. He believes that India’s responsibilities should extend beyond its own interests to actively contribute to global peace.

In response to a question about expectations from opposition leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha, he asserted that in sensitive situations, the opposition should stand with the government. He emphasized that while political differences exist, national interests must take precedence.

Kumar added that the government possesses adequate information and experience on critical issues like foreign policy, and therefore, the opposition should support these decisions. He cautioned against making unfounded allegations of ill intent against any government or Prime Minister, especially when the country faces serious international challenges. He underscored the need for balanced diplomacy and internal political unity in the current global crisis.
