Kavita Kaushik Shares Insights on Her Role in Captain

Mumbai, April 4: The action-crime drama web series ‘Captain’ is currently streaming on OTT platforms. The series is based on the story of SSP Samardeep Singh from the city of Jwalabad. It features a talented cast, including Saqib Saleem, Siddharth Nigam, Kavita Kaushik, and Anjum Sharma.

In the series, Kavita Kaushik portrays DSP Preet, a tough female police officer. The actress revealed that she did not face many challenges in adapting to the police character.

In a recent interview, she emphasized her seamless transition into the role, stating, “I did not have to work hard for my character because my background is connected to the police. My father was a police officer, and I grew up in that environment. Therefore, this role felt natural to me. Whether it’s the character of Chandramukhi Chautala or DSP Preet, the police aspect reflects in my performance.”

Kavita further praised the entire team, saying, “We have a great director, fantastic producers, and an excellent platform. Our cast is amazing. Everything felt right, which made it easy for me to say yes to the series.”

Discussing the challenging shoots, she remarked, “Honestly, I did not have any trouble shooting the scenes. If I say it was difficult, it would be unfair to the other actors. They were performing incredible action scenes even in tough conditions. Their discipline and dedication inspired me. I learned a lot from them. My role was quite comfortable compared to theirs.”

Often, female officers in police dramas are given less importance. On this topic, Kavita candidly stated, “I have never felt overlooked in my career. I make the most of every opportunity I get. I do not fight for more screen time. My focus remains on the impact of my work.”
