Haridwar, August 1: During the sacred month of Sawan, devotees are fervently performing water offerings to Lord Shiva in temples across the country. A significant number of worshippers have gathered at the Siddhpeeth Dakshin Kali Temple. On the third day of the Krishna Paksha in Shravan, Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj conducts special Shiva worship and Rudrabhishek after taking a holy dip in the Ganges at midnight.
After the sacred bath in the Ganges, Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj performed a special Rudrabhishek for Lord Shiva at the Dakshin Kali Peeth Temple.
One of his devotees, Vinod Kumar, shared, “Guruji begins this spiritual ritual from the full moon of the holy month of Sawan and continues until Raksha Bandhan. Throughout Sawan, Guruji observes a vow of silence and dedicates approximately 23-24 hours each day to worshiping Lord Shiva. Every night, between midnight and 4 AM, Guruji takes a holy dip in the Ganges before continuing his prayers.”
A devotee named Swariama Dixit, who visited the temple, remarked, “During the Rudrabhishek with Ganga water by Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, around 17-18 snakes appeared near the idol of Lord Shiva. It was an astonishing and divine sight that left all the devotees in awe.”
Meanwhile, extensive security arrangements are being made in several districts of Uttar Pradesh to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the Kanwar Yatra.
A Kanwar Yatra devotee from Etah district expressed, “The security arrangements along the route are excellent. I thank Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for ensuring our safety. The administration has kept the roads clear, there are no traffic jams, the electricity supply is steady, and overall management has been outstanding.”
