Varanasi, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : In a significant administrative reshuffle, Satyam Mishra has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and the Special Area Development Authority. This announcement was made on September 16, 2026, as part of a larger directive that included the transfer of five officials.
Mishra, a 2015 batch PCS officer, previously served as the Additional District Magistrate (City) in Prayagraj. He played a crucial role in managing city administration during the Kumbh Mela, earning a reputation as a dynamic and experienced administrator. His new role at the globally renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple marks a significant milestone in his career.
With extensive administrative experience, Mishra has served in various districts, including Bareilly, Ghazipur, Maharajganj, Chitrakoot, and Rampur. He has also held the position of ADM Finance and Revenue in Moradabad. His proven track record in revenue management, law enforcement, and development projects led to this important appointment.
Following the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the temple has seen a surge in visitors, with daily attendance reaching between 150,000 to 200,000. Managing temple operations, crowd control, security, cleanliness, and facilitating smooth visits are now among the CEO’s key responsibilities.
In addition to Mishra’s appointment, the government has also transferred four other officials. Mangalesh Dubey, previously the Deputy Director of Consolidation in Prayagraj, has been given additional responsibilities as the ADM (City) in Prayagraj. This vacancy arose due to Mishra’s new position.
Arvind Kumar Dwivedi, formerly the ADM (Judicial) in Firozabad, has been appointed as Joint Secretary at the Lucknow Development Authority. Seema Pandey, who served as the Additional Municipal Commissioner in Varanasi, will now take on the role of ADM (Judicial) in Firozabad. Lastly, Abhay Kumar Pandey, previously with the Kanpur Development Authority, has had his transfer order to ADM (Finance/Revenue) in Kasganj revoked and will remain in Kanpur.
This restructuring reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the management of one of India’s most sacred sites.
