Mathura, August 2: Spiritual leader Devkinandan Thakur Maharaj has renewed his call for the establishment of a Sanatan Board. To garner public support, he initiated a signature campaign in Vrindavan. Additionally, he expressed strong criticism regarding independent MP Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, who donned saffron attire during a protest in Parliament.
In an interview with a news agency, Thakur stated, “I believe people are becoming aware and are demanding the formation of a Sanatan Board. They feel that governments should take steps in this direction. Signature campaigns are being organized, and I am personally leading one, while others are conducting similar initiatives.”
Commenting on the protest against alleged donation theft related to the Ram Temple, Thakur reacted to Pappu Yadav’s saffron clothing. He remarked, “I was shown a video where the opposition staged a drama regarding the alleged donation theft. Such accusations sadden me, perhaps even more than them. Whether you give them Ganga water or me, I am not saying they do not feel pain, but I certainly do. However, when you wear saffron, you must exercise wisdom and restraint. I appeal to the opposition as well, as you also believe in Sanatan; please act sensibly. If you wish to raise an issue, do so in a manner that does not hurt the sentiments of Sanatan followers.”
Regarding the issue of police personnel allegedly stepping on the feet of Kanwar pilgrims, Thakur stated, “All government employees are paid with taxpayer money, and many of the walking pilgrims are also taxpayers. Therefore, I don’t believe they are stepping on anyone’s feet; these are merely claims. I have not seen any such video. If officials provide better roads, drinking water, or other facilities, that is commendable. They also adhere to Sanatan traditions, and serving the devotees is our duty. I see nothing wrong in that.”
