Mumbai, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : On October 2, Mumbai witnessed a significant cleanliness initiative organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti. The event took place at Juhu Chowpatty, where BJP Mumbai President Amit Satam actively participated alongside party workers to clean the beach.
Speaking at the event, Satam highlighted that this initiative is part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ launched nationwide to coincide with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. He noted that the campaign aims to promote a cleaner India, with activities scheduled at 227 locations across Mumbai on this day. BJP representatives, including local councilors and activists, were seen working diligently to remove waste from various spots around the city.
Satam emphasized the BJP’s commitment to making Mumbai clean and beautiful, stating that such efforts will continue in the future. The event attracted a large turnout of BJP workers, local residents, and sanitation staff, all collaborating to collect trash and plastic from the beach. Additionally, two new beach cleaning machines were inaugurated during the event.
In response to a proposed protest by the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP), Satam expressed concerns about attempts to disrupt Mumbai’s law and order. He accused certain groups of trying to instigate chaos and assured that necessary legal actions would be taken to maintain peace. Satam reaffirmed that the city’s security would not be compromised.
As the cleanliness drive unfolded, it underscored the BJP’s ongoing efforts to enhance the urban environment and engage the community in maintaining public spaces.
