BJP MP Claims Opposition Aims to Incite Chaos Amid Protests Against Chief Election Commissioner

BJP MP accuses opposition parties of trying to create unrest as protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar unfold in New Delhi.

New Delhi, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Tensions are rising in New Delhi as protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar are set to take place at Jantar Mantar. BJP MP Bhola Singh voiced his concerns, stating that the Congress party and other opposition groups are seeking to spread chaos in the country. He criticized them for continuously blaming the government and the Election Commission without presenting any constructive issues for discussion regarding development.

Singh suggested that if the opposition believes the Election Commission has not conducted fair elections, they should dissolve their governments in Congress-led states and call for fresh elections. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi had truly won his elections fairly if there were indeed doubts about election integrity.

In contrast, RJD leader Manoj Jha emphasized the significance of the date, Gandhi Jayanti, urging the government to reflect on its actions. He remarked that if Mahatma Gandhi were alive today, he would be ashamed of the current leadership. Jha noted that the government’s fear is evident in the stringent measures taken to prevent protests on this important day.

JMM MP Mahua Maji highlighted the ongoing turmoil surrounding the SIR issue, mentioning the negative impact on the public and students, who are forced to protest. She called on the central government to listen to their grievances and remove corrupt officials to prevent further damage to the government’s reputation.

Congress MP Jai Prakash accused Gyanesh Kumar of undermining democracy, pointing out the turmoil in various states such as Haryana, Maharashtra, Bihar, and West Bengal.

CPI MP P. Santosh remarked on the widespread nature of the protests, noting that the atmosphere at Jantar Mantar is echoed throughout Delhi. He stated that police efforts to quell the protests are only fueling further dissent. Santosh warned that without resignations, there will be no resolution, and that protests will continue to gain momentum in the coming days.

Tensions are mounting as various political leaders weigh in on the unfolding situation, suggesting that the protests may have far-reaching implications for the current government.
