Delhi Premier League Set for Thrilling Third Season from July 31 to August 30

New Delhi, June 23: The third season of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) is scheduled to take place from July 31 to August 30. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) announced that the player auction will occur on July 1, ahead of the new season. This month-long tournament will feature eight men’s teams and four women’s teams.

In the previous season, the West Delhi Lions, led by Nitish Rana, clinched their first DPL title by defeating the Central Delhi Kings by six wickets in the final match. In the women’s competition, the South Delhi Superstars, captained by Shweta Sehrawat, triumphed over the Central Delhi Queens to secure the championship.

The upcoming season will see several prominent cricketers participating, including international players and IPL stars like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Nitish Rana, Harshit Rana, Navdeep Saini, Ayush Badoni, Anuj Rawat, Priyansh Arya, SuYash Sharma, Digvijay Rathi, Mayank Rawat, Prince Yadav, Yash Dhull, Simarjeet Singh, Himmat Singh, Hrithik Shaukeen, and Sarthak Ranjan.

In the women’s competition, key players such as Shweta Sehrawat, Priya Punia, Soni Yadav, and Ayushi Soni are expected to join young talents like Tanisha Singh, Najma, Monica, and Pooja Sivaach.

DDCA President Rohan Jaitley stated, “Every year, the Delhi Premier League has improved. This league has rapidly become a significant part of our cricket calendar, generating immense interest among players and fans alike. We have witnessed numerous cricketers performing exceptionally in the DPL and representing teams at the highest level. This league has become a crucial part of identifying talent in Delhi cricket. We are confident that Season 3 will once again provide a platform for the next generation of players to showcase their skills.”

The men’s Delhi Premier League includes teams such as Central Delhi Kings, East Delhi Riders, New Delhi Tigers, North Delhi Strikers, Outer Delhi Warriors, Old Delhi 6, South Delhi Superstars, and West Delhi Lions. Meanwhile, the women’s competition features Central Delhi Kings Women, East Delhi Riders Women, North Delhi Strikers Women, and South Delhi Superstars Women.
