Delhi Metro Closes 45 Stations Amid Protests, Reopens at 10 PM Tonight

New Delhi, October 10 (Daily Kiran) : The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the closure of 45 metro stations in New Delhi due to protests organized by the Cockroach Public Party (CJP). The stations will remain closed until 10 PM tonight, October 10, 2026, as a precautionary measure.

This decision follows a previous announcement from the Delhi administration, which had indicated that 57 stations would be closed in response to the planned demonstrations. However, the Supreme Court intervened, directing that metro services should not be completely suspended to minimize public inconvenience.

In its latest update, the DMRC confirmed that the entrances and exits of the 45 affected stations will be closed for the specified duration. Key stations impacted by the protests include Janpath, Patel Chowk, Central Secretariat, Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, New Delhi, and several others.

Despite the closures, the DMRC clarified that interchange facilities will remain available at all affected stations, excluding the New Delhi station. Passengers will be able to change trains but will not be permitted to enter or exit the stations during the closure period.

Authorities will continue to assess the situation and provide updates as necessary.
