Delhi Health Minister Assures Public: No Need to Panic Over H1N1

New Delhi, August 26: Delhi’s Health Minister Pankaj Singh has reassured the public that there is no need to panic over H1N1, as a significant number of patients are recovering and returning home. He addressed journalists on Tuesday regarding the situation.

Singh stated that he held a meeting with officials from the Delhi Health Department and NDMC. The focus of the meeting was on H1N1 and dengue. He emphasized that the situation in Delhi is under control and urged everyone to remain calm. “Our health preparations are complete. Patients are coming in and recovering. There is no need for alarm regarding health matters,” he said.

According to the minister, there have been 2,308 reported cases of H1N1 and 600 cases of other variants. Additionally, 2,200 dengue cases have been identified. Many patients reported fever, received treatment, and are now in stable condition. The central government‘s advisory has been circulated to hospitals in Delhi, recommending mask usage and social distancing to prevent the spread of infection. So far, there have been no reported fatalities, and all patients are in stable condition. The government is fully alert and proactive, Singh affirmed.

He assured that there is an adequate supply of doctors and medications, ensuring no shortages. The meeting included all relevant officials, and efforts to raise public awareness were discussed.

Minister Singh mentioned that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has called for a review meeting to outline further steps regarding the situation. He reiterated that the public should not be alarmed.
