Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood stated that the released funds will be utilized strictly for public interest, essential civic services, and developmental works as per the guidelines set by the central and state governments. He also directed that full financial discipline, transparency, and caution should be maintained in the utilization of these funds.

Sood added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the Delhi Government is fully committed to making local bodies financially capable and robust. The release of the third and final BTA installment will provide significant support to the MCD, DCB, and NDMC in enhancing sanitation, infrastructure, citizen amenities, and essential public services.

He further emphasized that the Delhi Government aims to provide timely, transparent, and accountable financial assistance to local bodies to ensure better civic services reach every resident of Delhi.

Additionally, Sood informed that the Delhi Government has provided a one-time financial aid of Rs 500 crore to the MCD to make the city cleaner and dust-free and strengthen solid waste management. Besides this, an annual regular assistance of Rs 300 crore will be given to the MCD in the coming years to ensure no shortage in sanitation services.

The minister mentioned that this amount will be used for waste management, operation of sanitation services, clearing pending dues, collecting waste from contractor-free areas, and minor road repair works to reduce dust pollution.
