The victim, identified as Ranjit Sahni, was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by doctors. This incident occurred in the Bhatauna village of the Karja police station area.
According to police reports, Ranjit was a resident of the Mushari police station area and was attending his niece’s wedding. The wedding took place on Wednesday night, celebrating the union of Shambhu Sahni’s daughter. The groom’s party had arrived from Arra village in the Kanti police station area. As the wedding rituals, including the door worship, were underway, celebratory gunfire erupted, and one bullet struck Ranjit. Chaos ensued at the wedding venue immediately after the shooting.
