Lucknow, June 25: The tragic fire incident at a coaching center in Aliganj, Lucknow, claimed the life of Aditya Srivastava from Sitapur. His mother, Kalpana Srivastava, has held the Lucknow administration accountable for the disaster. She is demanding a compensation of one crore rupees and government jobs for affected families.
In an interview, Kalpana stated, “I urge the government to take strict action against those responsible for the deaths of 15 children. The administration has provided only five lakh rupees to the families of the deceased, which is insufficient. Each family deserves one crore in compensation and a government job.”
She emphasized, “The system is to blame for this tragedy, and all responsible parties must face justice. They were arrested for 14 days, but they should receive life sentences. Their properties should be demolished; only then will I find some peace. My son will never return. The administration failed to initiate rescue operations in a timely manner. Even after the rescue team arrived, negligence led to the untimely deaths of 15 children.”
Regarding her meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Kalpana remarked, “We told the Chief Minister that the arrangements made for his visit today, including the clearing of roads and removal of people, were done swiftly because he was coming. If such management had been in place on the day of the incident, those 15 children could have been saved.”
Kalpana added, “If children from affluent families had been trapped in the fire, the building would have been demolished immediately to save them. Since these were ordinary citizens’ children, the administration showed negligence, resulting in this horrific incident. The government and administration are responsible for this tragedy. After the incident, government representatives only come to offer condolences. There should be no cover-up under the guise of an investigation; strict action is necessary.”
