New Delhi, June 25: The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has officially announced the recruitment of 100 Assistant Section Officer (ASO) positions. This opportunity is particularly aimed at candidates who participated in the 2024 Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination but were not selected.
The 100 vacancies include 61 positions for Assistant Section Officer (General), 18 for Assistant Section Officer (Finance and Accounts), and 21 for Assistant Section Officer (Stores and Purchase).
The online application process commenced on June 23 at 10 AM, with the last date for submission set for July 13. Candidates wishing to apply for the ASO positions can submit their registration forms on the CSIR official website by 5 PM on the deadline date.
The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 33 years, calculated as of the application deadline. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per government regulations.
Selection of eligible candidates will be based on several stages, including application screening, shortlisting based on total marks obtained in the CSIR CSE-2024, a Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), a main examination, personality test, document verification, and the final merit list. Selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400.
When filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is set at ₹500 for Unreserved (UR), OBC (NCL), and EWS categories. Women, SC, ST, PWD candidates, and ex-servicemen are exempt from the registration fee.
