Bijapur, July 30  — A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable posted in the 22nd battalion in Bijapur district allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday morning. The constable, identified as Pappu Yadav, a resident of Bihar, reportedly shot himself with his service rifle.

According to police sources, Constable Pappu Yadav had recently returned from leave. On the very next day after rejoining duty, he allegedly opened fire on himself using his rifle. Hearing the gunshot, fellow jawans present at the camp immediately informed senior officials. Following this, personnel from the local Naimed police station reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem.

A case has been registered at Naimed police station, and legal proceedings are underway. So far, the reason behind the suicide remains unknown. Officials stated that Constable Pappu Yadav hailed from Thakuri village under Chaal Pokhri police station in Bhojpur district of Bihar. An internal inquiry is ongoing, and fellow personnel are being questioned to ascertain the cause behind the incident.
