Dilip Ghosh Criticizes Mamata Banerjee: No Party Left, No Office Remains

Kolkata, June 18: West Bengal government minister Dilip Ghosh has responded to several significant political issues. Commenting on the protests against Mamata Banerjee’s removal of hawkers, he stated, “Mamata Banerjee’s situation has deteriorated to the point where she has neither a party nor an office left.”

He claimed that everything has been taken away from Mamata Banerjee. The current issue regarding hawkers is her last attempt to remain in the spotlight.

Regarding a potential meeting between Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee, Ghosh remarked, “The proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Assembly follow established rules, and the Speaker plays a crucial role. The Speaker has the authority to call any member if necessary.”

He also expressed his displeasure over the controversy involving football legend Lionel Messi. Ghosh stated that the treatment of such a globally renowned player, alongside the collection of millions from people without giving them a chance to see Messi, has harmed Bengal’s image.

He mentioned that an investigation is ongoing. An email from Messi’s office indicated that he was not involved in the matter, and only an agreement had been made.

On the topic of changes to Mamata Banerjee’s security arrangements, Ghosh noted that when she was Chief Minister and Home Minister, she made decisions regarding security and officer deployments herself. Now, assessing security is the state government’s responsibility. He added, “If there has been a change in security, why is there so much fuss? If she does not want security, that is a different matter.”

He further stated that since Wednesday evening, police security has not been deployed at the former Chief Minister’s residence, and the police station located there has been completely vacated.
