
Dehradun, June 18: The weather in several districts of Uttarakhand is expected to change on Thursday. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain from Uttarkashi to Tehri and Nainital. In light of the anticipated rainfall in hilly areas, residents are advised to remain vigilant.
According to the meteorological center in Dehradun, light to moderate rain is likely in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh on Thursday. Meanwhile, Dehradun, Tehri, and Nainital may experience showers accompanied by thunder.
Additionally, snowfall is expected in high-altitude areas above 4,200 meters. Other districts in the state may see light rain and thunderstorms sporadically. The weather department has indicated that several locations in the hilly regions will experience active rainfall.
The same weather pattern is expected to continue on June 19. On this day, more widespread rainfall is anticipated in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli, while light to moderate rain or snowfall may occur in Dehradun, Tehri, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. Thunderstorms are also forecasted in the mountainous areas.
On June 20, the intensity of the rain is expected to decrease slightly, but light to moderate rain and thunderstorms may still persist in the hilly districts. In contrast, plains such as Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar are likely to remain predominantly dry.
Furthermore, from June 18 to 20, strong winds are expected across the state, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, and gusts may reach up to 50 kilometers per hour.
