Rampur, June 4: The controversy surrounding the film ‘Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legacy’ is intensifying. Producer Amit Jani has openly responded to a legal notice received from Salman Khan’s legal team. In an interview, Jani claimed that since receiving the notice, he has been inundated with thousands of threatening messages in just 36 hours.
He accused various platforms, including social media, phone calls, Instagram, Facebook, and personal messages, of being used to intimidate and pressure him. Jani stated that if Salman Khan wishes to engage in a legal battle, it should be conducted within the bounds of the law, rather than through threats.
In his statement, Jani mentioned, “I have received the notice sent by Salman Khan’s legal team, and now my legal team will review it. Since receiving the notice, I have been receiving continuous threats. I have been warned of being harmed, not being allowed to stay in Mumbai, and facing severe consequences. In just 36 hours, I have received over 10,000 threatening messages.”
Jani compared the fans of Salman Khan to supporters of Lawrence Bishnoi. He noted, “When I released the film’s poster, I received several calls from Lawrence Bishnoi’s supporters, but the conversations were civil. No one used abusive language, whereas the messages I have received in the current controversy are filled with curses and threats. Some messages were allegedly sent under the name of D-Company. Due to all this, I tore up the notice sent by Salman Khan’s legal team.”
He added, “Tearing up the notice is a way of responding to it. I have complete faith in India’s legal system. I will not back down from any form of pressure or threats. My team will soon release the film’s teaser, and we will not remove any content that the notice requested.”
The entire controversy began with the film ‘Kala Hiran,’ which is reportedly based on the infamous 1998 blackbuck poaching case and related events. After the film’s poster was released, discussions arose about its portrayal of Salman Khan and the Bishnoi community’s disputes. Following this, Salman Khan’s legal team became active and sent notices to those associated with the film.
Salman Khan’s legal team argues that the film could affect his personal rights and image. They also contend that the blackbuck poaching case is still pending in the Rajasthan High Court. Therefore, creating and promoting a film on this subject could be legally sensitive. The notice demands a halt to the film’s production and promotion.
