Controversial Songs Garner Maximum Views: Jeetu Senguptas Insight

Mumbai, March 31: Renowned Bengali cinema actor Jeetu Sengupta recently shared his candid views on the ongoing debate surrounding controversial songs. In a special interview, he stated that the more opposition these songs face, the more people tend to listen to them, which he believes is the primary reason for their popularity.

Jeetu Sengupta remarked, “You cannot blame the songwriters or creators because people are choosing to listen to these songs. The songs that stir controversy receive the highest views and likes. If you don’t like these songs, simply don’t listen to them.”

He further emphasized the diversity of content available in the industry. “We have legends like Gulzar and Javed Akhtar. What you choose to listen to is entirely up to you. Enjoy what you like,” he added.

Jeetu also mentioned that he prefers to stay away from negativity. “I could say something that would escalate the controversy, but I don’t want to do that. There is already enough negativity around us; why add to it? I am a positive person and enjoy listening to the songs of Gulzar and Javed.”

He highlighted the richness of Indian cinema, stating that it is not just Bollywood that boasts great songwriters, but also the Marathi, Punjabi, South Indian, and Bengali industries. However, he noted that Rabindranath Tagore is incomparable. “I won’t compare Gulzar or Javed with anyone either,” he said.

Jeetu Sengupta clearly stated that the power to set trends lies in the hands of the audience. Creators will produce what they know, but if people stop watching and listening, that content will eventually fade away.

Excited about his upcoming film ‘Bhoot Bangla,’ Jeetu mentioned that it features Akshay Kumar, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Vamika Gabbi in key roles. The film also includes the late veteran actor Asrani, who passed away at the age of 84 on October 20, 2025.
