Lucknow, February 21: Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput has defended the Youth Congress workers’ protest at the AI Impact Summit. He stated that their actions are a constitutional right, expressing pride in the Congress workers.

Supporting the statement made by Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, Rajput launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He claimed that the BJP is not only against a single community but is also working against society as a whole, all religions, and traditional values. He alleged that today, ‘fake Sanatanis’ are demanding certificates from genuine followers of Sanatan Dharma. He noted that religious leaders like Shankaracharya are being instructed, and incidents of violence against their disciples have been reported.

Responding to international economic issues, he remarked that decisions made by the United States are its internal matters, but their impact on India is significant. He referenced U.S. tariffs and judicial decisions, indicating that the American judiciary appears fully independent, while decisions against opposition leaders in India have raised questions. He cited the unfortunate two-year sentence given to Rahul Gandhi in a defamation case by a Gujarat court.

Commenting on U.S. trade policy and India-U.S. relations, Rajput criticized the central government. He stated that U.S. tariffs and global economic decisions are affecting India, yet the central government is failing to effectively protect the country’s interests. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration of bowing to the U.S. and former President Donald Trump. India is also facing challenges in deciding where to purchase oil, which raises concerns about economic sovereignty.

On religious matters, he also addressed comments made by Uttar Pradesh’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna. He emphasized that the law should apply equally to everyone. Whether it concerns loudspeakers, road blockages from processions, or disputes related to religious sites, adherence to the law must be mandatory in every situation.
