Congress MP Deepender Hooda Campaigns for NSUI at Punjab University

Chandigarh, August 19: Congress MP Deepender Hooda visited Punjab University on Tuesday to campaign for the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI). He was joined by NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar during this event.

In a conversation with the media, Hooda stated, “The atmosphere at Punjab University indicates that all students have decided to support every candidate from the NSUI panel in the upcoming student union elections. They aim to avenge the hardships faced by students in Delhi and across the country. The ABVP will be decisively defeated at Punjab University.”

He emphasized the significance of the Punjab University elections, noting that students from Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh, and Himachal Pradesh come here to study, and the message from this university will resonate far and wide. With elections approaching in Punjab, Hooda expressed confidence that Congress is moving towards a strong victory, stating, “The NSUI will sound the trumpet for Congress’s success in the upcoming elections.”

Vinod Jakhar, who has been engaging with students at Punjab University for the past two days, underscores the importance of this institution to the national organization.

Hooda also praised Jakhar for establishing himself as a prominent student leader before becoming the National President. He congratulated the entire team, including Sumit Sharma, for their efforts, acknowledging the struggles they have faced.

Regarding the recent fee hikes, Hooda shared his personal experience of studying at the university a few months ago. He pointed out the deteriorating infrastructure, attributing it to the negligence of the BJP government. “Punjab University has always been a pride of this region. Students are forced to protest repeatedly to assert their rights. The BJP seems to have a problem with higher education. The education and examination systems in the country are in disarray. The future of the nation is on the streets, and the upcoming generation is also taking to the streets in protest. This anger will be expressed in the Punjab University elections.”
