New Delhi, March 27: A significant update has emerged regarding the alleged ticket selling for the Bawal assembly seat in Haryana ahead of the 2024 state elections. Following a complaint by Gaurav Kumar, the Delhi Police have registered an FIR against individuals associated with the Congress party.
Former Women’s Congress official Suchitra Devi accused the Congress high command and the Gandhi family of swindling millions under the pretext of selling tickets for the Bawal seat. Her husband, Gaurav Kumar, filed the complaint with the Delhi Police, alleging that several prominent Congress leaders and their personal secretaries demanded substantial sums for tickets to the Bawal assembly seat but ultimately did not provide them. He has submitted documents and WhatsApp chats to the police, detailing financial transactions, conversations, and promises regarding ticket distribution.
Based on this complaint, the Delhi Police filed a case on March 26. The FIR was registered at the North Avenue police station under sections 61(2), 318(4), and 316(2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 2023.
The Delhi Police have taken the matter seriously and have initiated an investigation. Currently, there are no reports of any arrests. However, the investigation is ongoing, and disclosures are expected soon.
This case has stirred political circles. While Suchitra Devi and her husband have leveled allegations of corruption, the Congress party has yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Notably, when Suchitra raised this issue in the media, the Haryana Congress expelled her from the party.
