Bengaluru, June 24: The Bengaluru West District Congress Committee has formally requested the High Grounds Police Station to investigate a purported audio clip involving BJP MP Ramesh Jigajinagi. They are also calling for appropriate action if the voice in the video is confirmed to be his.
In their letter, the Congress party noted that an audio clip is circulating widely on social media and various digital platforms in Karnataka, allegedly featuring the voice of Ramesh Jigajinagi. The audio reportedly contains derogatory remarks related to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and suggests severe consequences for those questioning the organization. This has sparked extensive discussions on social media, leading to confusion and concern among the public.
The Congress party emphasized that it remains unclear whether the audio is genuinely Jigajinagi’s voice or if it has been artificially created, edited, or tampered with. In sensitive matters like this, it is crucial to ascertain the truth through police and forensic investigations. Therefore, they have urged the authorities to take this matter seriously, seize the viral audio clip, and conduct a thorough examination. A forensic analysis should be performed to verify the authenticity of the audio and confirm whether the voice indeed belongs to Ramesh Jigajinagi. Additionally, they called for an investigation into the original source of the audio and its initial dissemination. If the investigation reveals that the audio is fake, tampered with, or created with malicious intent, legal action should be taken against those responsible.
The Congress Committee has demanded that if the audio is found to be genuine and authentic, appropriate legal measures should be taken concerning the statements made within it. They further stated that if the investigation confirms the audio’s authenticity and the statements are proven true, legal action should be pursued against any individual or organization that instills fear and anxiety in the public, undermines the rule of law, or damages democratic values. Furthermore, if it is discovered during the investigation that any organization or its members are involved in threats, violence, illegal activities, or acts that disturb public peace, stringent action should be taken under relevant laws, and consideration should be given to other legal remedies as necessary.
