On Tuesday night, temperatures in the Gwalior–Chambal region dipped below 18°C, with dense fog covering several areas early in the morning. Most cities recorded daytime temperatures around 30°C, and a similar weather pattern is likely to continue through Wednesday.

Light Rain Expected in 16 Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a light rain alert for 16 districts, including Raisen, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Jabalpur, Katni, Seoni, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat. Meanwhile, skies will remain mostly clear in Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain. The department has also predicted light rain for Chhindwara, Seoni, and Balaghat on November 6.

Cyclonic Circulation and Western Disturbance in Effect

According to weather experts, a cyclonic circulation is currently active over Madhya Pradesh, leading to intermittent showers in some districts. A new western disturbance is also developing, which could move towards the Himalayan region in the coming days, bringing snowfall and colder conditions across northern India. As a result, Madhya Pradesh is also likely to witness a further drop in temperature.

Cold to Intensify After Two Days

The department forecasts cloudy skies and light rainfall in some areas till November 6, after which cold winds from the north will begin influencing the state. This could bring down temperatures by 2–3°C. From the second week of November, both daytime and nighttime temperatures are expected to fall steadily, with a sharp rise in cold conditions likely after November 15.

On Tuesday, most districts reported daytime temperatures 1–2°C below normal. Pachmarhi, the state’s only hill station, remained the coldest with a maximum of 24.6°C. Shivpuri, Sheopur, Ratlam, Raisen, Indore, Gwalior, Betul, Dhar, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Sidhi, Tikamgarh, and Malajkhand all recorded daytime temperatures below 30°C. The lowest night temperatures were recorded in Rewa (12.5°C), Nowgong (13°C), and Umaria (13.4°C).
