New Delhi, June 1: Abhijit Deepake, the founder of the Cockroach People’s Party, is returning to India from the United States. In a video announcement, he stated that he is coming back to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party also confirmed that Deepake will participate in a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar on June 6.
In a video shared on the X account titled “Cockroach is Back,” Deepake expressed, “I have decided to return to India. I am coming back to demand the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. We have been raising our voices on social media for days due to the paper leak issue. The suicides of NEET students and the wasted efforts of millions of students warrant his resignation.”
He highlighted that eight lakh students have signed a petition, and millions have supported it on social media. Protests are occurring in multiple locations across the country, including Lucknow, Maharashtra, and Delhi, yet there seems to be no impact. “Today, over one crore students, including 22 lakh NEET students, 17 lakh CBSE students, 16 lakh CUET students, and 14 lakh SSC GD students, have had their lives mocked by the system. Students are distressed, and someone must take responsibility. If the Education Minister does not resign after such a significant error, it indicates that accountability no longer exists in this country. It seems the system can make as many mistakes as it wants without consequences, while the repercussions fall solely on the students.”
Deepake urged everyone to unite and demand Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation democratically. “If we all raise our voices together, they will surely listen to us. I will arrive in Delhi on June 6 in the morning, and I invite everyone to meet me at the airport. We will proceed to the Parliament Street police station to seek permission for a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. Our Constitution allows us to voice our concerns peacefully. Those who believe that Dharmendra Pradhan should resign should support this cause.”
In conclusion, he stated, “My friends and family believe I will be arrested at the airport and sent to jail, but I hope our country is still democratic and that we will be allowed to protest peacefully. I want to make it clear that I admire Gandhi, Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh, and Nehru, and I trust the Indian Constitution more than anything else. As for the fear of jail, how long will we live in fear? This country does not belong to any one party; it belongs to all of us. Our future is at stake.”
