Jaunpur, August 8: Babu Singh Kushwaha, a Member of Parliament from Jaunpur and founder of the Jan Adhikar Party, has indicated that his party will align with the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He expressed his desire for SP leader Akhilesh Yadav to take the helm as Chief Minister.
Kushwaha stated that the Jan Adhikar Party is currently allied with the SP. “We want Akhilesh Yadav to lead the next government,” he said. He mentioned that discussions regarding strategies for the 2027 Assembly elections will be held between representatives of the SP and his party.
He emphasized that their priority is to secure victories in as many seats as possible. Whether it’s the Jan Adhikar Party or the Samajwadi Party, candidates from the alliance should campaign effectively to ensure Akhilesh Yadav’s ascension to the Chief Minister’s position.
Regarding the FCRA and delimitation bills, Kushwaha urged the government to clarify its intentions in Parliament. He noted that his party will follow the decisions made by their leader, Akhilesh Yadav, and that a detailed opinion on the bills can only be provided once they are advanced.
On comments made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding Kanwariyas, Kushwaha stated that Kanwar pilgrims should be welcomed with flower showers and that their needs must be adequately addressed.
He also highlighted education, health, employment, and communal harmony as critical issues. There should be better arrangements for children’s education, and schools should not be closed.
In response to AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi’s remarks about the Kanwar Yatra, he suggested that such topics should not be overly debated. He affirmed that India is home to people of all religions, and the Constitution grants everyone the right to worship according to their beliefs.
