Patna, August 8: BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain addressed several key issues in Bihar politics on Saturday. He commented on the internal strife within the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s engagement with youth, Tejashwi Yadav‘s allegations regarding law and order, Rahul Gandhi‘s criticism of E20 petrol, student protests in Jharkhand, and Prashant Kishor’s remarks on Bihar’s political landscape.
Hussain stated that the RJD is in a dire situation and suggested that Lalu Prasad Yadav should consider dissolving the party. He noted that RJD leaders and workers are engaged in mutual accusations and distrust. “The RJD is now gasping for breath,” he asserted, claiming the weakening of the Muslim-Yadav (MY) coalition. He pointed out that the recent elections reflected a shift in voter support away from the RJD, indicating a decline in the party’s influence.
The BJP leader claimed that the RJD has become confined to its office on Veerchand Patel Marg in Patna and Yadav’s residence, with party workers leaving in droves from villages.
Commenting on Tejashwi Yadav, Hussain remarked that he does not seem invested in Bihar’s future. He acknowledged that the state’s weather is not ideal but emphasized that the government is striving to improve conditions, with Samrat Chaudhary aiming to transform Bihar into a European-like state within five years.
Regarding Prime Minister Modi’s interactions with the youth, Hussain praised the Prime Minister for effectively communicating with them. He emphasized that the curiosity and questions of young people should not be stifled. Modi remains popular among the youth, as surveys indicate he is their top choice.
In response to Tejashwi Yadav’s claims about law and order in Bihar, Hussain stated that the government takes action in murder cases. He assured that the administration is serious about maintaining law and order and will continue to respond to incidents, regardless of their personal or communal nature.
Hussain also criticized the Congress and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha government regarding student protests in Jharkhand. He accused Rahul Gandhi of being politically opportunistic, showing concern for students in Prayagraj while ignoring those protesting at Jantar Mantar and in Jharkhand. “The public is becoming aware of Rahul Gandhi’s political tactics and double standards,” he said.
On Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of E20 petrol, Hussain clarified that ethanol blending in petrol is not unique to India; it is practiced in many countries, including the USA and Brazil. He suggested that Gandhi lacks substantial political issues to address, particularly after the government enacted laws against paper leaks, leading the opposition to resort to politicizing E20.
Regarding Prashant Kishor’s role in Bihar politics, Hussain congratulated him on winning as an MLA from Bankipur but urged him to focus on development during his tenure. He criticized Kishor’s comments about Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, stating that it is inappropriate to disparage a leader from a backward community who is dedicated to serving Bihar. Hussain lamented the ongoing negative campaign against Chaudhary, calling it unfortunate.
