CM Yogi Adityanath Meets Family of Deceased Dalit Student Lalita Gautam, Promises Justice

Ghaziabad, July 18: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with the family of the late Dalit student Lalita Gautam on Saturday at the PWD Guest House in Ghaziabad. He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured the grieving family that strict legal action would be taken against all those responsible for this heinous crime. He emphasized that there would be no leniency towards any officials or personnel who show negligence in the investigation.

Yogi Adityanath instructed police officials to ensure effective prosecution and to take all necessary legal steps to impose the harshest penalties on the culprits. He also directed the immediate disbursement of financial assistance of 500,000 rupees from the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund to the victim’s family. Additionally, he ordered housing assistance for the victim’s father and another eligible family member under the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme.

The Chief Minister further instructed that the victim’s family should be prioritized for benefits from the Ayushman Bharat scheme, ration cards, and all other eligible government welfare programs to provide them with every possible support.

The case of Lalita Gautam’s death has sparked significant political debate in the state. Opposition parties are continuously criticizing the Yogi government over the incident. Leaders such as Mayawati, head of the Bahujan Samaj Party, and Chandrashekhar Azad, national president of the Azad Samaj Party, have raised questions about the government’s response and demanded strict action against the offenders.

The state government has stated that a fair investigation is underway and that no guilty party will be spared. In this context, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reiterated his commitment to justice during his meeting with the victim’s family. Senior administrative and police officials, including the Minister of Social Welfare and the district in-charge minister for Meerut, Aseem Arun, were also present at the meeting.
