Indore, August 13: The Indore police have received a written complaint regarding an incident involving a minor injured during a police baton charge on protesters opposing the NEET paper leak in Delhi. The complaint calls for an FIR against Abhijit Dipeke, the founder of the Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP), and other members.
Additional DCP Rajesh Dandotiya confirmed that a person named Faizan Ansari filed the complaint and provided his statement concerning the protest.
Dandotiya stated, “A person named Faizan Ansari approached us. He lodged a complaint and gave a statement about the protest. Based on his statement, a petition was submitted.”
According to the complaint, Ansari alleges that during the police baton charge, a 12-year-old girl sustained injuries to her private parts.
He has demanded that an FIR be registered against Dipeke and others, referencing the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Speaking to reporters, Ansari said, “Minors, including girls, were present during the protest. The demonstration took place on July 20 in Delhi, organized by CJP founder Abhijit Dipeke. There were also minor children present. During the baton charge, a 12-year-old girl was injured in her private parts. I would like to mention the POCSO Act in this regard. It is an Indian law that allows complaints to be filed anywhere if a crime occurs.”
This complaint pertains to the protest in Delhi, where students and supporters gathered. Subsequently, the police conducted a baton charge, leading to allegations of excessive force against the protesters. The police stated that further action will depend on the investigation of the complaint and other materials submitted in the case.
